There are a lot of different seasons and times in people’s lives.There is those years of carefree existence.  There are the more responsibility laden adult years.Then the great years that we call our senior years.  It is those senior years I would
like to take a look at.Mainly, that is the season of a person’s life when they really can’t care for themselves.

It is in this time period that a family has 3 options to look at.  This is going to be perspective I have gained from running my own home health care services Coronado company.

First option is the adult kids taking care of them.This would be the perfect situation.But there are times when the kids just won’t be able to do it.  Whether it be do to job constraints or family constraints.Well if that’s the situation, there is 2 other choices.

Nursing homes may be necessary for those times when a person may have health issues and aren’t able to care for themselves.This is someone in need of round the clock medical care.But if a person is not in a position like that they really don’t need a place like a nursing home.And from the people I have dealt with, they don’t want to.Unfortunately, most people think that is the only choice and there is no other.

Well if they are forced into something like that, an older person might feel as if they have no more independance.They for all intents and purposes have lost some freedom. They have just lost a lot of familiar things.
